the new movie and audio of politician, Kerry talking about Technology gives a choice of 14 files and I was unable to decide which was the right one for me. I did get some info on Ogg Vorbis but it also baffles me...

I concur that the details page is rather messy, Cashel, because there's derived video and derived audio as part of the same item, and no good separator between them.

If you want to look at the video, I'd recommend the DSL or Modem streaming links, or the original MPEG1 link. Just pick the 128kbps MP3 version if you want to check out the audio.

thanks Simon. After posting I did some reading. Ogg Vorbis may have the advantage of bit-rate peeling.However I will continue using the MP3 format because it is resilient against DRM-encumbered proprietary formats (however I do NOT understand anything that I have just written)..
